Board rules

These rules are disclosed to clarify the various responsibilities of all community members here on Capture The Seas. They shall be adhered to by everyone to ensure that our board runs smoothly and provides a fun and productive experience for all of our community members and visitors.

  1. Website / Forum Rules

    1. Do not create multiple accounts or evade bans. They will all be banned if you are posting from multiple accounts. #
    2. Do not use "Report Post" or "Contact Us" for anything other than forum issues. #
    3. If you have a problem with a moderator's decision, Private Message that moderator or an administrator - do not otherwise get involved if you weren't directly affected. #
    4. This is an English language forum (other than a few specific, labelled subforums). If you're going to post in another language, also add the text in English, even if from online translator. #
    5. Use descriptive topic titles. People should know at a glance of the title what the thread is about. #
    6. Do not cross-post threads to multiple forums (or posts to multiple threads). #
    7. Always be respectful to other members. Flaming or abusing members in any way will not be tolerated. #
    8. Do not spam, or post "me too" posts, or any such derivative drivel that does not contribute to a thread. #
    9. Do not post or attach illegal content, or links to illegal content, including viruses, trojans, malware, or cracked games. Publicizing violations of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) will result in a ban. This includes...
      • Linking to sites that are targeted toward cracking Steam or circumventing its copyright protection.
      • Asking for support against cracked or illegitimate versions of Steam, either directly or via evidence in your request.
      • Mentioning that you, or promoting the act of, cracking Steam or circumventing its copyright protection.
      #
    10. Do not blank out posts or threads. If you posted a question and later solve your problem, post the solution for others to find. #
    11. Do not reply to spam posts, use the Report Post button. #
    12. Do not disrupt the readability of the forum with huge lengths of text, wild color/font variations, large images, or repeated emoji.
This includes making the main body of all your posts a different font/color/style - emoji are not allowed at all in thread titles. #
    13. Do not derail threads or post completely unrelated topics in a thread. #
  2. Discord Rules

    1. Do not mic spam! Disrupting a chat in way so that people cannot speak to each other is spam. #
    2. Do not be a drama queen. Picking fights, stirring up drama, blatantly disrespecting someone else, generally annoying or irritating others. #
    3. Listen before you speak when entering a channel. You can easily interrupt someone if you enter a channel and immediately begin talking. Wait a few seconds to listen before speaking. #
    4. Members will be kicked for online multiplayer hacking! CTSGaming does not condone hacking in any way and we will not have members who do so. #
    5. Do not abuse / spam with the bots. Taking the bot from people without asking or spamming functions of the bot. #
    6. Keep cursing and offensive language to a minimum! You may swear here, just not like a sailor. #
    7. Keep it clean and stop swearing when you're asked. #
    8. If you want to post any NSFW content please post it in the #nsfw text channel. #
    9. If you have any questions about the rules feel free to contact a @Moderator, @Admin, or @Solis Roi

  3. Guild Member Rules and Expections

    1. Sea of Thieves is a game for everyone regardless of age, gender, race, sexuality, nationality, creed or disability. CTS agrees with this and therefore adopted it. Treat everyone with respect. #
    2. Don’t insult players you don’t know. If humor is the intent, remember that this can be lost or misinterpreted online, and words can very easily offend. Be mindful of what you’re saying and if someone asks a question, see if you can help them out as you’d appreciate being helped out yourself if the roles were reversed. #
    3. Remember kids are playing. Sea of Thieves is home to players of all ages, so keep your posts and conversations appropriate for younger players and families. #
    4. Never harass, bully, intimidate, threaten or encourage others to do harm. None of these behaviors will be tolerated. Any activity you engage in that is solely designed to target and upset another player or crew constitutes bullying. Repeated activity designed to ruin the experience of another player or crew constitutes harassment. Not only do we take these things very seriously, many law enforcement agencies recognize online abuse as an offense. If necessary, we will report incidents to the relevant authorities to take further action. #
    5. We have a zero tolerance approach to any form of in-game hacking or cheating, and transgression can result in a permanent ban from both CTS and Sea of Thieves. Activities such as teaming or boosting to gain an advantage over other players in competitive game modes may also result in enforcement action. #
    6. No form of advertising is appropriate. Any form of spamming should be avoided. Trolling, baiting and witch hunts are also unacceptable. #
    7. If you witness CTS guild members violating any of these rules setforth, please inform an Admin ASAP. If you find guild member is involved in illegal activities contact your local law enforcement office.
